Intelligent Systems Technology, Inc. Announces $2.24 Million in
Military R&D Contracts for Decision Support and E-Learning Portals
SANTA MONICA, CA. – SEPT. 10, 2001 – Intelligent Systems Technology, Inc. (ISTI)
(www.intelsystech.com) announced today
that it has been awarded $2.24 million in research, technology development, and commercialization
contracts by the Department of Defense, the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Army.
These projects are sponsored by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the
U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command, the Office of Naval Research, and the Naval
Sea Systems Command.
These contract awards are for developing decision support and e-learning portals for the U.S.
military. Built on top of ProcessEdge™, ISTI's award-winning product, and TeamEdge™,
ISTI's collaborative process management platform, these portals are expected to dramatically improve
the cognitive readiness and operational performance of U.S. military personnel in both warfighting
and maintenance activities. "ISTI is incorporating knowledge management and embedded analytics
capabilities within its decision support and e-learning portal architectures. In addition, users
will be able to accumulate knowledge in shareable form as they work. This is the mark of a high
performance organization," said Dr. Azad Madni, ISTI's Chairman and CEO.
Two of these awards are to conduct research in human-agent collaboration architectures, and for
innovating software agent-based, software development approaches.
